Oils of vegetable and animal origin and oil-based oleo chemical products have been the most important renewable raw materials of the chemical industry. Performance, product safety and product economy criteria are equally important for new product concepts. The interest in renewable resources is increasing day by day compared to fossil raw materials. Industrial use of carbohydrates, proteins and vegetable oils is in perfect harmony with the principles of the Green Deal, and in general it is an important part of green chemistry and sustainability. Since the 1950s, oleo chemistry has become a major research and technology field in various institutions and industries. However, it is seen that the use of renewable resources, especially vegetable oils, is rising in parallel with the increasing demand for bioenergy.
PROIL OLEO has been carrying out R&D studies on oleo chemicals in its Köseköy premises since its establishment. It continues its product development activities with a team of technical experts in the industries where oleo chemicals are used, including the food, cosmetics, agriculture, petrochemistry, artificial leather, metalworking, heat transfer, plastic, asphalt, and particularly the lubricant industry. It performs innovative studies to transform vegetable oils, fatty acids and renewable resources into industry-applicable technologies in the most accurate way.
PROIL OLEO blends industrial experience with fundamental science research by receiving academic consultancy via partnerships with universities and develops products that will provide added value. It focuses on domestic production and the improvement of production processes with the aim of providing solutions to industries through domestic supply that will minimize import dependency. It consistently expands its product range by making technological investments through P&D activities.
With its team of technical experts in R&D activities, PROIL OLEO develops direct solutions to meet the industry needs in a wide area of focus within the framework of joint information exchanges with companies. Along with self-financed projects that continue within the company structure, it also takes part in TÜBİTAK and European Union projects as both a researcher and a coordinator. Moreover, it carries out joint projects with companies that have R&D centres.
